This engaging and interactive session will provide information about opportunities and threats to nonpublic schools, and how you can effectively engage with parents, community members and elected officials to educate and advocate the needs for all students. The session will focus on best practices in communications, advocacy efforts, and community engagement as you work with parents, community leaders and elected officials.

We want this for our students, but the journey has to start with teachers and leaders!  Join us as we talk about how to inspire creativity, cultivate JOY-filled learning experiences, and put the human back into the equation using empathy.

SESSION THREE

Addressing the Mental Health Crisis for School Leaders
Presenter: Dr. Jules Nolan, Phoenix School Counseling

Even before COVID experts were emphasizing the importance of addressing the mental health needs of educators and students. Over the past 2.5 years, mental health needs have reached a crisis point. Interventions in the form of 1:1 counseling are a critical part of addressing this need, but generally, people are finding it difficult to access therapy when needed. In this session, we will discuss school-wide approaches to address the needs of educators and students from a prevention standpoint as well as supporting Multi-tiered Systems of Support for identifying and addressing needs in a more systematic way.
