MINNDEPENDENT is pleased to offer membership to the state’s entire community of K-12 private and independent schools. Every nonpublic school in Minnesota deserves to benefit from MINNDEPENDENT’s work, which includes: protecting the education quality and autonomy private schools provide to thousands of students; safeguarding the public funds schools, staff, students, and families have the right to receive; and supporting parents in their choice of a school that best meets their child’s needs.
Full School Membership
Full School Membership in MINNDEPENDENT is open to all independent and private accredited K-12 schools in Minnesota. As a member, schools will enjoy these benefits:
- Opportunities to participate in all MINNDEPENDENT programs, councils, and committees
- Exclusive member-only access to extensive content and resources
- MINNDEPENDENT STEM grant program
- Use of the MINNDEPENDENT logo on all materials (print and electronic)
- Eligible for board service
Affiliate School Membership
Affiliate School Membership in MINNDEPENDENT is open to all independent and private non-accredited K-12 schools in Minnesota. As an affiliate member, schools will enjoy these benefits:
- Opportunities to participate in all MINNDEPENDENT programs, councils, and committees
- Exclusive member-only access to extensive content and resources
- MINNDEPENDENT STEM grant program
- Use of the MINNDEPENDENT logo on all materials (print and electronic)
- Not eligible for board service
Dues And Membership Policies
The membership dues and payment policies as outlined below pertain to all school membership levels. All memberships renew annually. The membership year is July 1 to June 30.
For the 2026-2027 school year, dues are:
- Current Members: $5.50 per student, or $300 for schools with 55 or fewer students
- New Members (first year only): $4.50 per student, or $260 for schools with 55 or fewer students
- Associate Members: $300
Billing
New Membership
- Annual dues payable 30 days from the invoice date
- Invoices more than 60 days outstanding from the date of the original billing will result in temporary suspension of member benefits
- New member schools will be invoiced annually as outlined under Renewal Membership
Renewal Membership
- One annual billing cycle
- Invoices are dated July 1 with a 30-day payment term
